1. Our Commitment
33 Mantras Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information when you use VedGuru (vedguru.app).
2. What We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal information:

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) without consent. For users under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account.
3. Why We Collect It
We collect personal information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you on each visit
- Deliver and personalise the learning experience (progress tracking, rank, karma)
- Process subscription payments and manage billing through Stripe
- Send transactional emails (email verification, password reset) via Resend
- Monitor and moderate AI chat content for child safety
- Improve the platform, diagnose technical issues, and prevent fraud
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties and we do not use it for direct marketing without your explicit consent.
4. How It Is Stored
Your personal information is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (a Neon Inc. service), and served through infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed using bcrypt with a salt factor of 12.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter (typically 90 days) to resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. You may request earlier deletion — see Section 7.
5. Disclosure Overseas
By using VedGuru, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Australia, including the United States of America. The third-party service providers we use services such as Vercel, Stripe, Anthropic have data centres in multiple regions globally, including the US.
Before disclosing your personal information to these overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure they maintain privacy protections comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles. By using the platform, you consent to these transfers under APP 8.
6. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or out-of-date information
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Withdraw consent to optional processing at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@vedguru.app. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.
7. Account & Data Deletion
You may request full deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing support@vedguru.app with the subject line "Delete my account". We will process the request within 30 days and confirm once complete. We may retain certain data for a further period where required by law (e.g., for tax and financial records in respect of subscription transactions).
8. Children
VedGuru is designed for users aged 10 and older. Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian create and supervise their account. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. Parents wishing to review or delete a child's data should contact support@vedguru.app.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at support@vedguru.app. We will investigate and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. The updated policy will always be available at vedguru.app/privacy.
